Tutor Guts

In 1999, we became the first company in Japan to send tutors for children with developmental disabilities. We've been teaching children with developmental disabilities, Down syndrome and borderline intellectual disabilities for over 20 years. We place great importance on providing instruction that is "suited to each individual student". There is no such thing as "good enough!" We will continue searching for the possibility of each students.  We value a flexible teaching approach rather than a knowledge-based or a precedent-driven one.

My daughter, who never spoke a word, started to speak some words! I took her to speech therapy in the U.S., Canada, and Singapore, but all the therapists gave up on her because she was too severely mentally disabled and would not be able to speak, so I had to consider other means. However, Guts' tutor didn’t give up and worked very hard to teach her and I could not believe it when she started to speak some words.

My son used to refuse holding a pencil, but now he has gained confidence in writing and enjoys other learning activities. He has become more aware of proper posture, writing, etc., and is able to perform well at home in a relaxed environment. He feels more comfortable with the flow of his classes at school and is less likely to walk around. As a parent, I'm so relieved to see some hope.
